Q. Does Gyaana publish only fiction?

A. Yes, at the moment Gyaana publishes only fiction: literary, popular, chick lit, and young adult.

Q. Does Gyaana accept proposals in hard copy only?

A. Yes, we accept submissions in hard copy only. Telephone enquiries will not change this rule.

Q. How long does the process of evaluation take?

A. It may take up to twelve weeks to send you a reply. However, if you do not hear from us within that time, you are free to submit the manuscript to another publisher.

Q. Will the books be available all over India in the big retail chains, etc?

A. The books go from our distributors to all the retailers (big and small) for their orders. After that it's the retailers' choice. If they like the book, they order copies. The books do get to the big chains as well as smaller stores, but there are no guarantees. It is different for each title.

Q. Will the books be available for purchase through online retailers?

A. Yes, the books are listed with most of the well-known online bookstores.

Q. Do you also publish children's books?

A. At the moment we don't publish children's books (including children's fiction), non-fiction, or poetry.

Q. Does the author have to bear the cost for cover, production, printing, etc?

A. In mainstream publishing, authors do not bear the cost for any of these processes. It's the publisher's responsibility. So the answer is - no, you do not have to bear any costs for publishing.
